Welcome to Fairy Tale, an app created by Aevum Apps LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We’re committed to protecting your privacy and keeping your information safe. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Fairy Tale. This app is designed to help you create magical children’s stories, and we want you to feel confident while using it.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect what we need to make Fairy Tale work for you. Here’s what that includes:

  • Information You Provide: When you create a story, you enter details like a main character, setting, mood, and moral lesson. We use this to generate your story but don’t store it on our servers after the story is created unless you choose to save it locally on your device.

  • Device Information: We may collect basic details about your device (like your device type or operating system) to ensure the app runs smoothly. This doesn’t include anything that identifies you personally.

  • Usage Data: We might collect simple data about how the app is used (like how often stories are generated) to help us improve it. This data is anonymous and doesn’t tie back to you.

We don’t ask for or collect personal details like your name, email, or location unless you contact us directly (e.g., via email).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Generate your custom stories using the OpenAI API (see Section 3 for more details).

  • Make the app better by fixing bugs or adding new features.

  • Respond to you if you reach out to us for help.

That’s it! We don’t use your information for advertising or anything unrelated to Fairy Tale.

3. How Stories Are Generated

Fairy Tale uses the OpenAI API to create your stories. When you enter your story details (character, setting, mood, and lesson), we send that information to OpenAI’s servers. They process it and send back a story, which we display in the app. Here’s what you should know:

  • OpenAI may temporarily process your inputs to generate the story, but we don’t control their servers or how long they keep that data. Check OpenAI’s privacy policy (available at openai.com/privacy) for more details about their practices.

  • We don’t store your story inputs on our servers after the story is generated unless you save it locally on your device.

4. Information We Don’t Collect

We don’t collect sensitive personal information like:

  • Your name, address, or phone number.

  • Precise location data.

  • Audio, video, or photos from your device.

If you’re under 13, we especially don’t want any personal info from you unless your parent or guardian says it’s okay (see Section 8 for more on kids’ privacy).

5. Sharing Your Information

We don’t sell, trade, or share your information with anyone except:

  • OpenAI: As mentioned, we send your story inputs to OpenAI to create your story.

  • Legal Reasons: If we’re required by law (like a court order), we might have to share something, but only if we absolutely have to.

6. How We Protect Your Information

We take steps to keep your data safe, like using secure connections when sending information to OpenAI. Since we don’t store your story inputs on our servers, there’s less for us to protect. Stories you save are kept locally on your device, so their security depends on how you protect your device.

7. Your Choices

  • Story Saving: You can choose whether to save a story on your device. If you don’t save it, it’s gone when you close the app or generate a new one.

  • Contacting Us: If you email us at info@aevumapps.com, you decide what to share, and we’ll only use it to help you.

  • Deleting Data: Since we don’t store your info on our servers, uninstalling the app removes any saved stories from your device.

8. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Fairy Tale is made for kids and families, so we follow COPPA to protect children under 13. Here’s how:

  • We don’t collect personal information from kids unless it’s necessary for the app to work (like story inputs), and even then, we don’t keep it after the story is generated.

  • We don’t use your data for ads or tracking.

  • If you’re a parent and think your child shared something they shouldn’t have, please contact us at info@aevumapps.com, and we’ll help you sort it out.

Parents, if you want to review or delete any data tied to your child’s use of the app, let us know—we’re happy to assist!

9. Changes to This Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, we’ll post the new version here and change the “Last Updated” date at the top. Big changes might also come with a notice in the app. Check back now and then to stay in the loop.
